Why essential oils?

THE POWER OF ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential oils are full of powerful plant properties. They are made by taking raw plant material (leaves, flowers, stems, sap, seeds, etc.) then put into a large vat and the distillation process begins with water. In some cases, you would start out with 90 pounds of plant material and get 4-8 ounces of essential oils. It is a lot of work but it is truly worth it because this essential oil is packed of the plants nutrients and antioxidants that strengthen your immune system as well as regenerate damaged skin. For this reason, it is very important that your beginning plant material be organic, not grown with pesticides or herbicides, because if not this will come through in the final product. Because essential oils are super concentrated, only a few drops need to be used to reach the benefits or as they saying goes “a little goes a long way.”

Lavender

It relaxes, calms and
restores therefore decreases stress. Lavender essential oil has antioxidant, antimicrobial, sedative and antidepressive properties.

Frankincense

It has been used for over 4 thousand years. It is grown in the Middle East and taken from the resin or sap of the tree. It is anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, and anti-aging. Studies have shown it to strengthen the skin as well as heal the skin.

Tea Tree

It is native to Australia. In World War 1, it was used to treat flesh wounds because was 10x more effective than carbolic acid. It is anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and soothes skin irritations like acne yet gentle on skin.

Bergamot

The #1 essential oil used in perfumes as a base in both female and male fragrances. It is a bitter citrus fruit originally from Africa and Asia, now it is grown in the Mediterranean. It decreases inflammation, reduces stress, anti-microbial, and antioxidant and repairs skin cells as well as the strengthens immune system.

Cedarwood

It has anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-septic, sedative and insecticidial propeties. Cedarwood is also helpful in combatting skin dryness as well as acne.

Peppermint

It is a preservative, anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, anti-viral, analgesic for pain relief, increases energy, and decreases fever. Peppermint also can relieve itchiness as well as boost the health of your skin.

Orange

It has vitamin C, high levels of antioxidants which gives anti-aging benefits, and enhances immune system.

Oregano

It has been around for 2500 years. Oregano is an anti-fungal, antibacterial, anti-parasitic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-viral. It has a beneficial compound called carvacrol which helps to protect the skin.

Petitgrain

It is the leaves of a bitter orange. It is anti-flammatory, decreases stress, anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, and revives skin at cellular level.

Mandarin

It has high anti-oxidants which is beneficial for brain function as well as fighting off oxidative stress, anti-inflammation and high levels of vitamin C which can slow down effects of aging.

Patchouli

It is a bushy herb with stiff stems and it native to tropical Asia. Patchouli has anti-inflammatory, skin irritation properties, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-septic, and cell rejuvenation benefits thus anti-aging.

Sandalwood

It is one of the most expensive essential oils because it takes 40-80 years for the Sandalwood tree to grow to harvest its roots. Sandalwood helps to decrease inflammation which in turns decreases aging, increase concentration, anti-anxiety, and natural astringent which can assist in tightening the skin. Additionally, it has anti-viral and anti-septic properties.
