Zoe Provisions has its fundamental building block in our Zoe Skincare Line which is our Zoe Facial Serum is unique. This unique Zoe building block will easily go onto your skin and will replace the need for a traditional moisturizer. Many other formulators use water, waxes, alcohols, and fillers in their formulations. We offer an anhydrous formulation; it is a fancy name for a formulation without water. The base of our Zoe Facial Serum is the highest grade of olive oil. It is organic, unrefined, cold pressed, and from Greece. There are many different varieties of olives that can be made into olive oil. The olive oil we use is filled with monounsaturated fats, high levels of polyphenols, and full of naturally occurring antioxidants. This means that our olive oil will help prevent and decrease inflammation. Moreover, our Greek olives are Koroneiki Olives from the Koroni region of Greece. It is considered the “queen of olives.”

There are more than one thousand different olives that can be used for its luxurious oil. The top selling countries that export olive oil is Spain, Italy, and Greece. Other countries have widened the market by offering olive oil from New Zealand, Chile, and United States, specifically California. On a deeper note, not all olive oils are the same. For instance, in one bottle of olive oil there can be different types of olives or just one type of olive. Next time you are in the market for olive oil, take some time to analyze it thoroughly. To preserve the important properties of olive oil, it needs to be stored in a dark glass bottle to prevent light from damaging it. If the olive oil you purchase is in a plastic container, the beneficial properties can be compromised even if in a dark colored plastic container.

Secondly, read the label carefully because olive oil is a very lucrative market, and some companies take short cuts to increase their profits. On the back of the label, look at the country/countries where the olive oil is coming from because there can be a mix of different olive oils from various countries. It is better if you purchase olive oil from one region of a country versus different regions or multiple countries. At times, some companies can even mix different plant oils and put on the label in a large font “olive oil” and in a small font “along with other oils.” Make sure to store your olive oil in a cool, dark place when not in use. Another helpful tip for when using olive oil in eating is use it at room temperature and not to heat up by cooking it.
