Every salt is not the same kind of salt. There are various types of salts. One reason for this is where it is obtained from such as a body of water or mine. Another reason for the differences in salt is their geography; depending on the region, salts will have different types of minerals present.

In this article we will focus on seven different types of salts: Table Salt, Himalayan Pink Salt, Himalayan Black Salt, Dead Sea Salt, Celtic Sea Salt, Black Lava Salt, and Epsom Salt.

Table Salt is also called halite. It is collected from rock salt mines and evaporated seawater. When obtained from mines, it mostly comes with other minerals that are considered toxic. And when obtained from seawater, it comes with pollutants. That is why it undergoes refining, processing, and bleaching to remove all the toxins and pollutants which leave behind white color salt grains. Later other ingredients are added such as iodine to make iodize salt.

Himalayan Pink Salt is said to be the purest form of salt found on earth because of its pollutant-free unaltered nature. It has less sodium than regular table salt. Himalayan Pink Salt also has 84 vital minerals which enhance the pink salt’s nutritional value and therapeutic properties.

Epsom Salt is also called Magnesium Sulphate. It is a magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen-based chemical compound. It was discovered in the town of Epsom in the English county of Surrey. It is a very popular salt because of its various benefits for the skin. Taking a hot bath with Epsom Salt crystals detoxifies and moisturizes the skin deeply.
